THE CHECKLIST NUXTRE

From Mort Halvorsen's THE COUNTDOWN, in green on black. The clock runs to the date; Mort works down his checklist of 212 (001: call your mother; 040: milk, powdered, which Curtis considers a betrayal; 100: stop, make tea) in his house before it gets there. The clipboard shows the next four items, each done in a room — the front door, the hall phone, the kitchen, the bedroom upstairs, the basement with more shelves than a basement needs, or next door. Send him room to room. When the clock reaches the date, the date moves, for the reason his page gives, and if enough got done, he was ready. Three dates not ready and that's alright: start at item 1. Eleven dates, the clock shorter each.
