EMERGENCY CASSEROLE NUXTRE

From Teo Brannigan's Casserole Index (every one since 1998, numbered by what it's for). Someone is coming over and there are forty minutes. The card says what goes in, in order — egg noodles, white sauce, green beans, buttered crumbs — and the counter carries the cupboard past the dish: when the right one is over it, in it goes. The wrong one is a note on the card; three notes and that casserole is for a Tuesday that went wrong. Then the oven, with a window: take it out golden. Six casseroles, more layers each, the counter quicker. Teo talks you through it, each step with a human clause at the end.
