About
RawTherapee is a free, open-source raw photo processor for Windows, macOS and Linux. Instead of importing pictures into a catalogue, it opens folders directly in a thumbnail browser with star ratings, flags and filters, and you edit one image at a time or send many to a batch queue. Editing is non-destructive: settings are kept as processing profiles in small sidecar files beside each photo, and a profile can be copied to other images or saved for reuse. The toolset covers exposure, tone curves, colour management, a choice of demosaicing methods, noise reduction, sharpening, lens corrections and local adjustments. It is known for fine control and image quality, at the cost of a busier interface than consumer photo apps.
- Folder-based browser with ratings and filters, no import step
- Non-destructive edits stored as sidecar profiles
- Choice of demosaicing methods

- Windows and Linux files are hosted on the project's GitHub releases page, linked from rawtherapee.com.
- There is no photo library or catalogue; you organise photos in folders yourself.
