About

Inkscape is a free, open-source vector graphics editor that uses SVG as its native file format. It is used for illustrations, logos, icons, diagrams, technical drawings, print layouts and files for plotters and laser cutters. Drawing tools include Bezier and freehand pens, calligraphy, shapes, text on paths and live path effects, alongside layers, clones, gradients, patterns, masks and clipping paths. Raster images can be traced into vector paths, and a document can hold several pages that export together to PDF. It imports PDF, EPS and Adobe Illustrator files among others and exports to PNG, PDF, EPS and more. Python extensions add further functions. Inkscape is developed by a volunteer community and is available for Windows, macOS and Linux.
