About
calibre is a free, open-source e-book manager created and maintained by Kovid Goyal. It organises large personal libraries with metadata and cover editing, tags, virtual libraries and detailed search. It converts between many e-book formats, including EPUB, AZW3, MOBI, DOCX and PDF, and sends books to e-readers over USB, wirelessly or by email. A built-in viewer reads books on the computer, and a full editor can modify EPUB and AZW3 files directly. calibre can also turn news websites into e-books using downloadable recipes, and its content server lets phones, tablets and other computers browse and read the library in a web browser. New versions are released frequently for Windows, macOS and Linux, and a portable Windows build is available for use from a USB drive.
