⚠ Before you install: the installer carries offers
Adobe's download page adds optional offers — such as McAfee security software or Adobe Express — to your download unless you untick them.
- On get.adobe.com/reader, find the Optional offers in the middle of the page and untick every box BEFORE clicking Download.
- If the installer shows an offer, untick it before continuing.
- Afterwards, check Settings → Apps → Installed apps for McAfee or anything else new, and uninstall it.
The clean route: Lighter readers with no offers: Sumatra PDF, or simply your browser, which opens PDFs.
About
Adobe Acrobat Reader is Adobe's free application for opening, printing, signing and commenting on PDF files, from the company that created the format. It displays complex documents, including interactive forms, layers, attachments and digital signatures, and lets users fill in and sign forms, highlight text, add sticky notes and draw markups. Documents can be stored and shared through Adobe's cloud services when signed in with a free Adobe account. Editing text and images, converting PDFs to other formats and the AI Assistant require a paid Acrobat plan or add-on, and these paid tools are shown in the interface next to the free ones. Reader is available for Windows, macOS, iOS and Android, and a browser-based version is offered through the Acrobat web app.

Before you download
- The download page bundles optional offers such as McAfee software or Adobe Express Photos; untick them if you do not want them installed.
