About
Zoom Workplace is the current name of Zoom's desktop and mobile client, the app most people install to join or host Zoom video meetings. Besides meetings with screen sharing, breakout rooms, reactions and virtual backgrounds, it bundles Team Chat, a collaborative Whiteboard, Docs and the AI Companion assistant, which can summarise meetings, with some features depending on the plan. Joining a meeting usually needs only a link or meeting ID, while hosting requires a Zoom account. The free Basic plan lets you host meetings for up to 100 participants with a limit of 40 minutes per meeting; paid plans remove the time limit and add features such as cloud recording. Zoom suits anyone whose school, employer or friends already schedule calls on it.
