About

TLauncher is a third-party launcher for Minecraft: Java Edition, made by an independent team with no connection to Mojang or Microsoft. Like the official launcher, it downloads the game's files and starts whichever version you pick — any release, snapshot or old classic — and it adds one-click installs of the popular mod loaders and its own skin system. It can sign you in with a Microsoft account that owns the game, and it can also start the game under a typed nickname with no sign-in at all. The launcher itself is free; whether you need a Minecraft licence depends on how you play, not on the launcher: Minecraft's terms let you play once you have bought the game, and servers that check accounts only let in players signed in with an owned copy. Read the security notes below before you install it.

  • Any Minecraft: Java Edition version, including snapshots and old releases
  • One-click installs of Forge, Fabric and OptiFine
  • Sign in with a Microsoft account, or start with just a nickname
  • Its own skin system (those skins show only to other TLauncher players)
  • Runs on Windows, macOS and Linux

Before you download

  • Unofficial: Mojang and Microsoft neither make nor support it. Their own launcher is free at minecraft.net, where the game itself is sold.
  • A valid Minecraft licence may still be required: the game's terms let you play once you have bought it, and servers that verify accounts admit only signed-in owners.
  • Security: download it only from its official site, tlauncher.org — copycat sites with similar names have spread malware. In 2019 users published analyses alleging spyware-like behaviour, which its developers denied; some antivirus tools flag it. If that worries you, use the official launcher or a free game such as Luanti.
  • Read every installer screen and untick anything that is not TLauncher itself.
  • An optional paid Premium subscription adds skin and cape extras.
