About
PuTTY is a small, long-established terminal client for logging in to servers, network equipment and other computers over SSH, Telnet, rlogin or a serial line. Written and maintained primarily by Simon Tatham, it remains a common choice on Windows for system administrators, students and anyone managing Linux machines or routers. Saved sessions keep host names and display settings for quick reconnection, and SSH port forwarding can tunnel other traffic. The download includes companion tools: PuTTYgen creates and converts SSH keys, Pageant holds keys in memory as an authentication agent, PSCP and PSFTP copy files, and Plink provides a command-line connection for scripts. Windows builds are published for x86, x64 and Arm, and a Unix version is available as source code.
