About
Microsoft Teams combines group chat, video meetings, voice calls and file sharing in one app and is the communication hub of Microsoft 365 for many companies and schools. The current version of the app can hold work, school and personal Microsoft accounts side by side. Personal users can use the free plan to chat with friends and family, organise communities, share files and hold group video calls of up to 60 minutes with up to 100 people, with 5 GB of cloud storage included. Business and education plans add longer meetings, webinars, shared channels, deeper integration with Office apps and SharePoint, and Copilot AI features on eligible licences. Teams fits best where an organisation already relies on Microsoft 365 for documents, email and calendars.
