The program itself is clean and open source. But its installer may add other software — see the box below before you click anything.

What the numbers mean

⚠ Before you install: the installer carries offers

Some installer editions on the official site carry an offer for E START, a start-page app from a partner company.

  1. On crystalmark.info's download page, choose the ZIP (portable) edition instead of an installer.
  2. Unzip it to a folder of your choice and run DiskInfo64.exe.
  3. If you used an installer, untick the E START offer on its screen before Next.

The clean route: The ZIP edition has no installer and no offers.

About

CrystalDiskInfo is a free, open-source Windows utility from Crystal Dew World that reads the S.M.A.R.T. self-monitoring data reported by hard drives and SSDs. For each drive it shows an overall health rating, the current temperature, power-on hours and count, and the raw attribute values behind them, which can give early warning of a failing disk. It supports SATA and NVMe drives as well as some USB enclosures and Intel RAID setups. It can sit in the system tray to keep watching drives, with optional sound or email alerts. Besides the standard look, themed editions featuring the project's mascot characters are available, as are installers and portable ZIP builds for x86, x64 and ARM64.

  • Reads S.M.A.R.T. attributes from HDDs and SSDs, including NVMe
  • Health status and temperature at a glance
  • Tray monitoring with sound or email alerts
  • Themed editions alongside the standard version
  • Installer and portable ZIP for x86, x64 and ARM64

Before you download

  • Windows only.
  • Some official installers bundle an offer for the E START app (a GMO INSIGHT partnership); portable ZIP builds are also provided.
