About
CPU-Z is a free hardware-identification utility from CPUID. It reports the processor's name, codename, manufacturing process, package and cache levels, along with motherboard and chipset details, memory type, size and timings, and the SPD data stored on each memory module. Core and memory clock speeds are measured live, which makes it a common way to confirm that an overclock has taken effect or that RAM is running at its rated speed. A built-in benchmark compares single- and multi-thread scores against reference processors, and results can be submitted to CPUID's online validator. It is offered as an installer or a portable ZIP, and CPUID also publishes an Android version.

- On April 9-10, 2026 a compromised side feature of cpuid.com briefly pointed some download links to trojanized files on third-party domains; CPUID says its own files were not altered.
