About
Bitwarden is an open-source password manager that stores an end-to-end encrypted vault on Bitwarden's cloud servers, or on a server you host yourself, and syncs it across your devices. The free plan already covers unlimited passwords on unlimited devices, a password generator, passkey storage, sharing with one other user, email-alias integration and Bitwarden Send for passing along encrypted text. Apps are available for Windows, macOS and Linux desktops, Android and iOS, all major browsers and the command line, alongside a web vault. Paid Premium and Families plans add an integrated TOTP authenticator, encrypted file attachments, emergency access and vault health reports. The client apps are published under the GPL.
- End-to-end encrypted vault synced across devices
- Unlimited passwords and devices on the free plan
- Passkey storage, password generator and email aliases

Before you download
- Requires a Bitwarden account; the vault syncs through Bitwarden's servers unless you self-host.
- The integrated TOTP authenticator, file attachments, emergency access and vault health reports need a paid plan.
- The portable Windows version does not update itself automatically.
