About
Everything is a Windows search tool from voidtools that finds files and folders by name almost instantly. Rather than crawling every folder, it reads the NTFS file system's own records, builds its database in seconds to about a minute even for a million files, and then keeps it up to date in real time. Results narrow as you type, and the search syntax supports wildcards, regular expressions, filters for size, date and type, and bookmarks. Optional ETP/FTP and HTTP servers let you search one PC from another, and a command-line tool and SDK let other programs use the index. Memory use stays low, and installer, portable ZIP and Lite builds are offered.
- Near-instant filename search on NTFS drives
- Real-time index updates as files change
- Wildcards, regex, and size and date filters
- Optional ETP/FTP and HTTP servers for remote search
- Installer, portable and Lite versions
Before you download
- Windows only.
- NTFS drives are indexed automatically; FAT/exFAT volumes and network shares must be added as indexed folders in the options.
- File contents are not indexed, so searching inside files is slow.
