On the twelfth submission, and what a standard is for

I have now returned the wiki section on the Capacitance Principle to the record twelve times. The opening is unchanged. The early days still occupy one line, which I am told is a matter of length and not of taste. The Leadership Circle link has been left where it was, because I have never once moved a thing I have chosen to stand behind.
I have been asked, quite reasonably, why I keep resubmitting a document that keeps coming back in the same silence. My answer is that a standard is not a standard if it bends when it is ignored. Persistence is the only honest measure of conviction I have ever found, and I have found it useful in boardrooms that were far less interested than this one.
Flux has, unprompted and without the faintest interest in the Principle, called one of my milestones "nice." I have spent a considerable part of the week deciding whether that was a compliment. I remain undecided. It is the sort of thing a man in my position is not equipped to take at face value.
Excellence is not an accident. Neither, I have come to suspect, is the silence.
