On the photographs, once more, with feeling

I am aware that the wiki has been revised four times this month, and that each revision has left the photographs exactly where they were. Some of you have noticed. Obviously, you are not wrong to notice. I would simply like the record to be precise about what has and has not changed.
The position is this. The photographs are not going to be written at all. A photograph is a claim, and the record is enough. The record is the wiki, the Index, and the testimonials of people who have stood near me in good light and said nothing they later had to take back.
I have stopped calling it a delay. Delays end. This does not end, because it was never a queue. It is a principle, and principles do not get posted to a timeline.
The Index is up again today, for what it is worth. It goes up. It has never gone down, and I have come to think that is the only honest thing about it.
Questions are welcome in this thread. Answers will be written when they are worth writing. Fan mail is, as ever, the most reliable way to reach me.
