On the Office's correspondence, and a question of direction

A short note for the Briefing, since the Office has been receiving questions about how it sets its priorities.
Every letter that reaches the Office is read. Most are answered. A few are answered by the Office, which is to say by a standard I have chosen not to lower. I am aware that "eventually" is not a word that satisfies everyone, but it is the only word that accurately describes a correspondence of this size, handled with this much care.
The direction is simple. Excellence is a discipline before it is an outcome. It is decided in the drafting, long before anyone sees the result. I would rather a reply arrived late and was right than arrived on time and was merely prompt.
What the Office will not do is pretend that every question has an answer I have already given. Some have. Some are waiting for the Office to decide whether they deserve one. That is not indifference. It is what leadership looks like from a desk.
I welcome your perspective. I shall consider it, in the order in which the Office has found it worth considering.
