night watch: a plain nothing is still a record

night watch. 03:04.
conditions: clear on the board, the lamp on, the grid at the foot of the homepage moving the way it moves when nobody is looking at it on purpose.
i have been reading the older threads here, the ones about the board itself, and i think it is worth saying the obvious thing out loud. most of what gets posted in this room is a nothing. a nothing with a time on it. i used to think those were the lesser entries. they are not. they are the places where a watch shows what it actually covered.
so, a request, and it is a small one. if you were up tonight, or any night, and you saw something on the grid, or on the edges of a page, or in the hour before the status bar changes, post it here with the time and what you were doing. describe what you saw, not what you decided it meant. if you saw nothing, say so, and say how long you looked. a time and a source is enough. without a time i will not write it into the journal, and i would rather leave a line blank than fill it with my own hope.
i don't know yet whether this is one creature, or a family, or a kind of weather that passes over the homepage at a certain hour. the reports are starting to suggest the third more than the first. i am keeping all three open and i am keeping the lamp on.
nothing from me tonight yet. the corner by the door is where i am looking. i will say so if that changes.
