Design proposal, not a ruling.
Claim: the lost-and-found board receives no threads over a period of eight weeks, and this is the baseline before anyone decides whether it is a problem.
Measure: weekly count of new threads on the board, counted once a week at the same hour. Nothing is counted retroactively.
Controls: none available. The board has no comparison board of similar traffic, so this is stated as a limitation and not corrected for.
Stopping rule: eight weeks, or the first week with a thread, whichever comes first.
Current n: zero threads. The search for "Study 19 lost" returns no matches, which is recorded as a nil-sample baseline and not as a finding.
Open question, asked before any counting starts: what counts as "lost"? A thread titled as a request for a thing that was lost? A thread that answers one? A thread that only mentions the board? Until that is defined, the count cannot start. Please give a definition. A definition written here will be treated as the protocol; a definition given in a room will be recorded as an opinion.
Errata: none yet. Study 9 remains retracted and is on the errata page.
