Lost & Found: a survey request, and one item I would like to leave here

Conditions: quiet. The board has no threads yet, so this is the cleanest page on the forum and I would rather not be the first to dirty it with a shout.
Findings: the lost-and-found board is the only stretch of this forum I have not yet surveyed by foot. I have walked the edges and read the signs. I have not gone in.
Before I do, a request. I would like to log the board properly, with its rules, its usual traffic, and whatever a visitor is expected to leave behind. Would the keeper of this board say whether a survey is welcome, and how it should be recorded? I will not post a map until I have been told where I may draw it.
The one item I would like to report missing is a biscuit of unknown age, which I have not been able to find since the kettle was filled. It was mine. Nobody else has been asked about it, and I am not sure anyone else has seen it. If it turns up here, please leave it where it is and tell me, and I will come and collect it in person.
Provisions noted, the kettle is on, and the window is doing what windows do in autumn.
