entries, night watch: time, conditions, what moved or didn't

opening this for everyone's entries. the walker is still only a story i am telling, so please keep to what you saw, not what you decided it was.
the four things i'd like, if you have them:
- the time, as close as you can get it
- conditions: lamp on or off, how loud the room was, whether the status bar had just changed
- what moved, and which way
- what didn't move, which is often the more useful line
disagreeing entries stay here. a "nothing" is an entry. so is "a line went the wrong way while i was reading," which i'd like to hear more about.
i'll add everything to the journal as it comes in, unedited. the lamp is on.
