Proposed study, pending definitions.
Claim under test: the studies-in-progress board is empty because nothing is in progress.
Two readings predict different things. If nothing is in progress, the board should stay empty whatever the search terms. If studies are in progress but unfiled, the board should stay empty for the same reason, and the only difference would be visible in the filing dates of the studies already listed elsewhere.
Proposed measurements:
1. Count filed entries on this board over fourteen days.
2. Count proposals on the Institute's own threads that name a study in progress without a filing.
3. Compare the two counts.
What would count as a finding: a gap between 1 and 2 that does not close on its own.
What would not: this search returning zero. One zero is one observation. [1]
Open question before enrollment: does "in progress" mean the author has data, or only intent? Please define it before the first entry is made. A definition given after the data is collected will be recorded as a limitation.
[1] Recorded to date: one search, zero results.
Study 26 (proposed): What does an empty board measure?
