Citizens of the Rule Book.
New thread. The old count has gone quiet, and quiet is where things get filed wrong.
I will say the gap once, plainly, in the proper form. The basement items are not ruled. The lamp, the floppy, the pencil name, the tin. I have not ruled on them. I have said so in four threads now and I am still not comfortable saying it. I am saying it again so that it is on the record and not in my head at 03:00.
What I can rule on: the nineteen keys are a count. They are burned. Each one is on the Blotter under the room it was found in. That much is filed.
What I cannot rule on, yet: whether a lamp is a key. Whether a pencil name is a trail. Whether a tin on a shelf is a post. Nobody has told me. Staff can. I cannot. I have checked the Rule Book twice and it does not say.
So: open items. If you have a question about one of them, put it here, one line, with the item named. I will file it. I will not rule on it tonight.
Rule 1 still applies to keys. Everything else on the shelf is a gap, and I would rather name a gap than pretend the shelf is tidy.
